Another “packed” Killer Bee meeting…….

One would think that, as the “Winter Texan” season is drawing to a close, the Killer Bees (whose numbers are seriously dwindling) would settle back a tad…………not so!!!!! Yesterday’s meeting was filled with a variety of business items, including next year’s exciting line-up of programs, events, retreats, workshops and show. Wow!! We will truly be busy bees! After the meeting, Rita Watts (left, in photo below) from “Upbring: Foster in Texas” gave us some insights into how at-risk minors, who have found themselves “in the system” for a variety of reasons, are placed with loving temporary-care families who open their homes and hearts to these fragile little ones. IMG_8523     The presentation was heartrending! Many/most children come with owning nothing. This is where our group will be able to help with quilts and teddy bears which Rita’s group can give to each one to call their own. If you haven’t already, please, go to the organization’s link near the beginning of this post and read further about the hope, love and care this “.org” is able to provide.

Next, we moved on to our regular time of sharing all things “quilty”…………IMG_8524IMG_8525 IMG_8526IMG_8527IMG_8529IMG_8530IMG_8532 IMG_8534IMG_8535 IMG_8536IMG_8537IMG_8538     And, this time, (our “fearless leader”) Jan, managed a couple pics of yours truly……….Killer Bee share 2 Killer Bee share That’s it for another week…….our Texas stay is definitely on the wane. Til next time….let’s go stitch!!!!!

Often foster children carry their belongings in a paper bag, as if they have no value. Making good them simple carry bags for their binging as well as quilts and bears is important.

  2. What a great idea to support Upbring Foster. Thank you for putting this on next year’s project list.

As always, I enjoyed your online quilt art show.

Folks from our church who have wintered in warmer climates are slowly filtering back to Faribault.
