“Last time”…………for this year……

To be with my dear quilting ‘buds’ at a Killer Bees gathering. No one likes to say ‘Farewell’ but it must come. Though numbers are dwindling, the sharing time is quite amazing and the workshops continue. These gals are firm believers in truly finishing a quilt. More and more are doing their own machine quilting and using up what could be termed possible “orphan components”. You know….those leftovers that are stashed for the “future”(!?). These first 2 quilts are definitely reversible!!!!……………front view:IMG_8607      and back view: IMG_8608    Again, front view: IMG_8623       and back view:  IMG_8624 IMG_8609IMG_8610 IMG_8613IMG_8617

A darling baby quilt with a companion bunny! IMG_8612IMG_8611IMG_8618 A pillowcase to go with this quilt (shared a couple weeks ago).IMG_8554 IMG_8613IMG_8616 IMG_8620IMG_8622   Finally….it’s never too early to begin those Christmas projects and this one definitely is taking time & patience!!!!!! All the individual leaves were positioned on the wreath but the placement of those fun figures is yet to be made permanent!!!!! IMG_8627  Following this time, there were those participating in a table topper workshop. IMG_8550 IMG_8628IMG_8629IMG_8630     And…..so I must leave this industrious group til next January……sigh……

All of the projects are very pretty, too bad the group has to leave. It seems time went so fast, maybe it didn’t to all of you. Take care.

Time DID fly by!!!!! I don’t feel like I have much (in the way of quilting stuff) to show for the time…..except for some extra poundage and a slight tan!!!! LOL!!!! Looking forward to renewing friendships next December!!!!

Whenever I look at quilts, particularly detailed ones, I’m in awe of the maker of them. I know from my own feeble attempts how much work they are!

Are your group meetings a seasonal thing? Is that why you’re breaking up for now?

    • treadlemusic says:

Actually, the group is a mix of “Winter Texans” (those who are in the Rio Grande Valley/Harlingen,TX, locale sometime from Oct. thru April) and those who have permanent/year ’round residences here. The group continues to meet year ’round and connects via a “closed” Facebook group in the interim. The quilting continues even when I’m up in MN, rejoining my other 3 groups……yup…..LOL!

  3. What a wonderful group. I’ll miss seeing all of their artwork. But we’ll see that of Minnesota artists, correct? Oh, yes.

    • treadlemusic says:

Absolutely!!!! In the midst of packing and making reservations on the road. Looks like we’ll be dodging much cooler weather with the possibility of even a titch of that frozen stuff……sigh………..lol lol

  4. The majority of the tasks are pretty, too awful the gathering needs to take off. It appears time went so quick, perhaps it didn’t to every one of you. Fare thee well…

    • treadlemusic says:

We managed to pack the needed things and we are now in South Dakota for a visit (with the threat of rain/snow!) then on to Minnesota on Monday. It will good to be home. Good of you to stop by. Please, stop again…………….Doreen
