Began with a wonderful sunrise service held at the adjacent park, Sunshine Country Club Estates, in their beautiful gazebo. Arriving early for the 7:00 a.m. service, the moon was still bright………………… But it wasn’t long til it truly was a “sunrise service”!!!………….
Golf carts and lawn chairs, filled with residents of both resorts packed the area for an inspirational message and music.
A couple hours later, we attended the final worship service in our resort (for this “Winter Texan” season). Definitely bittersweet but oh so special to celebrate our Lord’s Resurrection with our Texas church family! Average attendance was 250 with many active outreach ministries, especially to our Mexican neighbors.
Our choir has dwindled to 8 (yes, that is me in the choir, on the right, next to Pastor Richard). We bid all safe travels and a blessed summer to the tune of “Happy Trails”….so fitting. We head home at the end of April, so some days ahead yet. The rest of our Easter Sunday was spent in the resort’s swimming pool (the day’s high temp was 91F).
Thanks for sharing the Texas version of celebrating Christ’s resurrection. Worshiping in the beautiful outdoors in the light of that gorgeous sunrise seems perfect.
Here in Minnesota we had our coldest Easter since 1997. I believe the temp Easter morning was 15 degrees. Today it’s snowing with a total of 10 inches predicted. You are wise to stay in Texas until the end of the month.
This most recent dumping is quite demoralizing!!!!! Ugh!
I miss our sunrise services in Colorado, where it was chilly, but still wonderful. 😄 It’s good that you are still in Texas, we had snow again last night. It’s going to be a late spring around here!
Yes, we are well below the “snow line”!!! Our home area really caught a bunch on this most recent storm!!! Easter services were wonderful!!!!!
