Spring on “Morning Glow Farm”…….

Yes, that’s the tag that I gave our little farmlet 44+ years ago. It’s wonderful to be back North (from South Texas) and to have the fresh Spring Midwest breeze blowing through our pines, with the steady hum of farm equipment readying the nearby fields for the upcoming crop season. As I was doing a brief “walk-about” this morning, I snapped a few photos to share the ‘flavor’ of the moment…….. To begin…we have Orioles—in abundance…

rhubarb and asparagus

and strawberries

IMG_0574IMG_0576IMG_0578 IMG_0580IMG_0581 IMG_0584IMG_0583  Time to get busy…..in the studio! Please, stop back for a bit and I’ll share a wonderful “meet-up” I had on our way home!!!

Your enduring friendship means much and I apologize for my tardiness/absence in the past weeks. The coming summer promises to be a very busy one and I look forward to sharing the details with y’all……….sending hugs..always….

  1. You seriously have rhubarb already. It must be because you are that much further south. I’m waiting for the lilacs to bloom.

In town, the lilacs are in full bloom…ours will be shortly. The rhubarb is doing beautifully and needs more picking, at the moment!! I think we really do need warmer nights!

    Beautiful, beautiful!

Welcome back to MN-did you just get back? I hope that you missed the storm on April 14th at least. We did by going to Paducah and Memphis!

    • treadlemusic says:

Hello, Vicki!!!! Yes, we just got back a week ago (missing that storm was the HUGE bonus!!). Took me a couple(?) days to put clothes away, though. When we left it was in the upper 80s/low 90s!! Glad you were able to avoid the white stuff, too!!!! Hugs…..

  4. Welcome Spring!! I can just imagine a cherry pie in the coming months:). Yum!!

    • treadlemusic says:

Me, too!! Last year’s crop was done in by an early May hail storm so we’re hoping that all will go well this year. DH takes a high amount for his cherry wine making but there’s usually enough to share with friends! Yum!!!!! Sending sweet hugs……………

Welcome home and enjoy your beautiful spring.

  6. The photos are beautiful. Will be looking forward to hearing from you.

Thank you! Fresh Springtime growth is amazing, isn’t it?? I’m not a gardener so I really like the perennials that make their appearance each Spring. I did bring my annuals home from Texas…….they traveled quite well!! Have an awesome day……..hugs……

Glad you are back to blogland! Things are looking beautiful at your place, appears you’re about a week to 10 days ahead of us! Looking forward to hearing the news.😘 Happy Mother’s Day!

    • treadlemusic says:

And happy Mother’s Day to you, also! The nights are still really chilly which seems to have slowed some of my plants a bit (ex.: hydrangea) but everyone here seems to feel that once we get the warmth it will be summer warm……..we’ll see. Furnace is running at the moment! Just barely 40F and raining, at the moment!!!!! Hugsllllllll

    Beautiful views.
I guess it is good to be home sweet home.

  9. Judy says:

You have a pretty farm, it looks fresh and glowing. Looking forward to seeing your work and hearing your news. Have a nice Mothers’ day.

Thank you. We do love the tranquility that rural life gives us. Our #2 son & wife (who have a cute home up the driveway from us) purchased the land last year, so we are technically “squatters” which is a good place to be at this stage of life!!!! May your Mother’s Day be a beautiful one, also….hugs……….
