Are always fun to play with….right??? I got my ruler order from Bethanne Nemesh, yesterday, and today I just had to play. I’m beginning the only client quilt of this year and needed to do some ditch stitching (SID)—-perfect!! Such a wonderful size for sit-down machine quilters (and, of course, long-arms!). I have the “Sure Foot” on my Sweet 16 and would highly recommend this foot for all ruler work!!! The ruler markings are in 1/8” increments and, I know, these will be very handy to have for future applications!
These are available with a slight tint so they are easier to keep track of when placed aside on the fabric………
Check out the other (very new) additions to Bethanne’s shop using this link. Ditch stitching can be a tad(?) tedious and these rulers made the task much more pleasant! What thoughts do you have on SID (Stitch in the Ditch)?

I use invisible thread on top for SITD with regular thread in the bobbin and I find that works great. It would be fun to try ruler work, but I have not invested in the right foot or rulers yet.
For years I used the closed toe foot that came with my Sweet 16. I was cautious, because I didn’t feel it was “tall” enough but it did ok. Rulers are quite the investment so I’m always researching. The “Line Tamer” remains as my ‘most used’ of all the straight edged type.
I am using invisible thread to SID, with white Connecting Threads poly on the bobbin, and it went well. Now, switching to the “fun” stitching/’thread’. Post to come. Thanks so much for popping by…..hugs……..
I need to watch a video, I have never figured out how rulers work!
I love Bethany! I took a class from her 2 yrs ago at MQX. I couldn’t decide on rulers so I haven’t bought one yet. How did you decide?
The additional markings were quite important also the length of the straight portion is longer than the Versa Tool (which I have). The curved edges are sized well also. Beth Anne does a video showing its use.
