When a quick gift is needed………

There are a couple ideas that I go to. One is the pillowcase pattern that may be found here. It’s called the “Burrito Method” and results in a wonderfully finished case. Since it’s the Christmas season these fabrics worked well….IMG_1195 All were in my stash which is always a good thing. Both the piping and the main fabric have a silver metallic glisten and are so frosty! I slipped a piece of 80/20 batting in the cuff and began a simple vine with holly leaves design. The “thread” is Sulky “Holloshimer” (which I used in this client quilt a while back). IMG_1197 Yup, it’s Ms Juki again. IMG_1198And….done. Just a couple of hours on a Saturday morning! IMG_1199 IMG_1201 How are all your projects coming along?? Are you doing more stitching or buying finished??? Time is slipping away at a frantic pace and I’m looking to relaxing and enjoying the family gatherings ahead.

I love those pillowcases, they make the best gifts or dress up a room so nicely. 🙂 My sewing is about to begin in earnest, the table is currently filled with the Christmas ornaments for the piano students…once those are finished I can begin in earnest, a shirt for DH and a special order for Girl #1.

I love the Burrito method; use it with teaching my young stitchers as a first project and they are delighted with the outcome. Have two to make for grandsons before the big day this year! Eager to start making more when the grands start college to use their specific team fabric!
