The binding is on and a small label is attached. Martha Washington Star quilt is officially a UFO no longer! It’s especially nice that my stash didn’t increase much with leftovers from this kit and I used all but 25” of the binding I had prepped (that fabric is totally gone!)……… It was cut 1.25” and, yes, it was not the normal double binding. I did a bit more stitching in the daisy flowers but decided to leave the stars and pinwheels alone……………………
The outer border stitching is a ‘take’ on the daisy theme….my sample……..
and the “real thing” (very difficult to see the actual stitching)…top & backing……..
. And the final ‘finish’………………………….
The final dimensions are 63”x 65”. This was a Connecting Threads kit of years ago.
Thread: (top) Glide, 40wt; (bobbin) Connecting Threads Essential Pro poly, 70wt. Batting: Hobbs Heirloom, cotton/poly (single layer).
I know how WONDERFUL it makes me feel to finish something so I am celebrating with you on your beautiful finish. Way to go!! The quilting is perfect.
Thanks so much, Janice! Now……what next?? Hmmmmmm……………….
I love the fabrics in this quilt. It is so pretty and soothing to the eye. And I absolutely love the quilting. Congratulations on the finish. I know how pleased I am when i finish up and old quilt project.
Oh yes! The satisfaction is quite different than a project started & finished in a timely fashion. I hope to keep going with this. There are so many kits/fabric languishing!!!!
It turned out just beautiful, and the quilting is just right, I think!
I think so, too 💜💜💜💜🤗
Great finish! Especially love your quilting.
Thanks so much! I do struggle with the amount of stitching. Kinda have a tendency to quilt it to death!!!! LOL!!!!
What a pretty finish! Perfect for this weekend and for the summer days!
I wasn’t sure how this would come out but I really like it……and the applique was a pleasant process (hadn’t done it in quite a while!). Thanks so much for stopping by!
Love it.
