Stitchin’ Saturday with a side of baking……

I can only show a wee bit of the stitching (a client project #2)……..IMG_1439Using Glide 40 wt (top thread) and Hobbs cotton/poly batting. Lovin’ the feathers!

And baking. Ordered a couple of bannetons and they are working well. The loaves are my fave sourdough craisin pecan bread……………….IMG_1445 And so ends my Saturday. Attended a 90th birthday gathering for a friend and, now, watching a NASCAR race.

    Got my sourdough book checked out again, so I’m going to try get my starter going. The feathers on the quilt are beautiful as usual!

      There’s something almost therapeutic about the bread making process plus there are so few doing it these days that a homemade loaf is an awesome gift!!!! Fresh homemade bread toasted with lots of butter…..YUM!!!!

    Beautiful as always Doreen. Bread looks yummy. Made my 1st loaf of sourdough bread, taste is not quite strong enough yet, but will get there. Do you put yeast in yours as well as starter? I have been reading up on it and there are two ways of making the bread. Think I will keep adding yeast as the other takes longer than I want to give it.

      I do add a little (1 tsp) yeast even though time really isn’t a factor. That recipe (with the craisins/pecans) seems to be quite dense even when made as regular bread/not sourdough so adding that little bit of yeast really helps. Glad you’ve been able to do some baking!!!!
