Another stitching “accessory”…………

Free motion quilting (FMQ) ease on a domestic or sit-down machine depends on a slick surface in order to move the fabric/quilt sandwich smoothly. I have a couple of “Supreme Sliders” I purchased years ago but have become slightly less slippery (at least, that’s what I’ve noticed). Recently, I saw a large gridded polyester mat posted on Facebook and decided to go for it………..IMG_1484 I ordered it from AllBrands (lower $$ than Amazon…including the shipping!). I’ve ordered items from them before and have been so impressed with the quick service/response and would highly recommend. The mat size (12”x 20”) is wonderful….especially for the price!!! The markings are most helpful and the surface IS SLICK!! It lifts/repositions easily when the bobbin area needs accessing. It comes in a clear plastic tube that is very handy for storage………………….IMG_1485 The brand, “Sew Steady”, has been a reliable one over the years. So, if you have been thinking of some type of FMQ mat/accessory along these lines, I would recommend this one. I don’t do a whole lot of piecing but the grid markings will come in handy for those diagonals that need to be stitched for all the HST (half square triangles) that are so popular these days.

Now, on to the weekend and our little town’s annual event…..Hoedown!!!!

Sounds good, now to see if I can get it here without it costing an arm and a leg for shipping. Thanks.
