“Seussical Trees” (for me, it has a wee bit better ‘ring’ to it than “Wonky Trees!)……………. I did a very simple loopy star stitching using my fave Superior Variegated Metallic Gold thread, #025, to add the glisten that those trees needed. It’s a subtle addition but one that adds so much “life”! The back is pieced with the triangles left from the first cutting……………..
The binding was a 2” strip, folded in half and first applied to the back and flipped forward to the front and topstitched (my new favorite finish for quilted finishes that will see some laundering)……
I stitched stars at the top of the trees but that wasn’t standing out enough so I dug into the button box that my mom left to me and retrieved these button covers (who else remembers that trend????) and…..perfect………………………..
Once again, this fun finish……………..(to see it’s beginnings, go to my previous post)

Is this using the Cut Loose pattern? I have done that one many times, they are so fun aren’t they!
Welllllllll………it’s her idea (saw a pic somewhere) and couldn’t wait for a reall pattern so did my own improv. Yes, it is fun and the next one will be from the pattern (a TX friend is ordering it!).
Love it.
It’s so different than other projects I do that are more “controlled”. A fun change! Sending (a bit warmer) hugs…………..
Such fun trees.
Normally, “wonky” isn’t my ‘cup of tea’ but (for some reason) they were calling my name!!!!! So sweet of you to visit……..hugs……
I love the fabric choice for this piece. Adorable with a nod toward vintage. Lovely
Thank you! It truly was an enjoyabl…and challenging…..project!!!! Thanks so much for popping by!!! Hugs……..
So much fun, and I agree, Suessical trees is perfect!
They look like they’re dancing in the breeze on a snowy evening! Cute!
