I mean really!!! From an innocent, sweet “Lollipops and Lemon Drops” (dontcha just luv how that rolls off the tongue???!!!!!) to a bursting with energy presentation that exudes a spirit of life that was not anticipated! OK, that may be a wee bit “over the top”, but let’s see the current status of “Galactic Explosion”. Here is where it began…. An odd, random 9-patch, set in a yellow & white leafy print batik, with instructions to “quilt as desired”. This “Challenge” project was given to the S.E.A.M.S. (SouthEast Area Machine Stitchers) group I belong to. The finishes will become a traveling group of quilts that will be in state quilt events in the upcoming months. Next came some texture lines and feathers…….. And this afternoon, this piece’s personality truly began to emerge……. Hmmmm……kinda hard to really see……… A bursting star of……9-patches!!!!~!! Yup. The darker stitching is the result of a switch to my fave metallic thread! Now, a bit of a move to the background fill……………….
See this post for details on products used in this project…..with the addition of the latest thread: Superior’s Variegated Gold Metallic (#025)!!!!!
More updates forthcoming……………
