Good Food, Good Friend, Good Time and An Unexpected Sighting

Dear readers…….I know this is a bit redundant, but I view it as a different perspective of the same event (it’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it!!! LOL!!). Additional photos give further insight to this lovely tea room.

It's Just Life

P1040546I went on a little adventure last week to meet up with fellow blogger Doreen from Treadlemusic.  Doreen is a Minnesota blogger and quilter extraordinaire who quilted a few quilt tops for me that came from Chris’s grandma.  She is an amazing quilter (check this link for my finished quilt) and an even more amazing friend. doreen and bethannShe suggested we meet at this tearoom that she loves in Wykoff, Minnesota called The Bank Haus Gifts and Margaret’s Tea Room.  I LOVED this place as she knew I would. From the looks of Wykoff there isn’t a lot going on but this was definitely THE destination.  I would urge anyone traveling anywhere near there to make the time to stop in. The menu is very small—you choose 2 items from 4 selections that they recite to you and they arrive at your table immediately.  I chose the lovely ham salad…

  2. Two of my favorite bloggy friends together…

I love that Wykoff has a tea room. Question: Do men eat there? When we were vacationing once, Randy and I ate at a “tea room.” Never again, he said, as he felt totally out of place. I had no idea what we were walking into as I’ve never dined in a tea room type setting. He survived, though. 🙂

Tom has HUGE reservations (like….”I’m not interested, you go by yourself”) with such places but they, generally, serve “guy food”. The Bank Haus makes sandwiches (like Reubens) on Saturdays when the kitchen has better staffing for more variety, otherwise they have a couple of special soups, a type of sandwich, a couple of salad choices and always homemade rolls and desserts Wed thru Friday (when there’s fewer staff).
