When the sun is shining, the air is crisp, and it’s very much Autumn/apple season, and the sounds of football games emanate from the TV, it’s time for a small baking session. But what??? Apple pie, of course!!!! And this wonderful sugar encrusted pan of yummy-ness…………………
Since WordPress hasn’t had an update to an “aroma feature” you’ll just have to take my word for the fact that our home smells amazing!!!!!! Let’s see, when this is cooled…..how many slices should I cut???????………
Never heard of Fireside apples…but that pie looks delicious…that’s one of the things I miss the most here in Texas are fresh apples and fresh apple cider….
See my reply to KerryCan’s comment (above) for a link to the apple info. I love this “apple country”!!!!!!
Yum!! I think straight down the middle – half for you and half for me!
LOL!!!!! Now THAT’S a plan!!!!!!! Next time…….only 1 piece left (I can’t believe it is still setting there, either!!!!)!!!!
No slice to be cut – just eat the whole thing! 🙂
Now THAT’s my kind of gal!!!!!!! LOL!!!!!
Oh, YUM! Firesides are a type of apple? That’s a new one for me!
In Minnesota we have the University of MN that has developed types of apples over MANY years. This is an “oldie” and, growing up in St. Paul, we had a Fireside apple tree in our back yard. You may read more on this one here: http://minnesotaharvest.net/apple-varieties/connell-red-fireside/
You quilt AND cook?????????? Superwoman, you!
Cooking and baking are yummy diversions, too! Along with a ‘ton’ of other interests which is why my days are just NOT long enough!!!! LOL!!!!!
As many as you can kindly save me some. Blessings Always, Mtetar
I’ll listen for your knock at the door!!!! (smile) Hugs…….
Just picked up two bags of apples yesterday, one for crisp, the other to eat as is. Your pie looks absolutely delicious.
Usually I use at least 2 types of apples but this time I used only Firesides. Awesome! I will be buying more the next trip through LaCrescent.

One slice for me please 🙂
Okey-dokey……………………….
I have an apple tart cooling on my counter, didn’t feel like rolling two crusts, and yes the house smells scrumptious!!!
