This past Monday, my (larger) group met and the following is just some of what I was able to photo capture during the “sharing” time. These gals, I think, manage to somehow quilt in their sleep for all the quilts that are accomplished each month!!!! The following projects are just a sampling…………
The gal (above) is holding a purse/fabric that was sent from Japan by her daughter.
Carol, in the last 5 photos, has really been in high gear!! The “Spider Web” quilt was made from string triangles that her sis had made but was unable to complete, due to health issues. That quilt, and all her quilts, are quilted on her Janome DSM (domestic sewing machine). She has done quilts up to approx. 100”x100”! It can be done and done beautifully. The yellow/blue/white quilt is from the blocks she did in a workshop I did last April (“Disappearing 4-Patch with a Twist”) and the last photo is the table runner top that was done earlier in the morning as a workshop using a 9 degree triangle ruler.
Linda (in the last 2 photos) likes to do BOM (block of the month) quilts and shared her most recent finishes.
Yes, that IS a Harley quilt. Barb made this with fabric she bought from several people off Ebay (it is the yardage used in the blocks. She was told at a HD dealer that it was no longer available!! Never tell a quilter that!! LOL!).
Some of the gals come with their own special “helpers”!!!!
In this last photo, Ruth made the cutest aprons from jeans.
These last 2 quilts (“Holy Cow” and “Bessy Ross”), plus 18 (or more) others from the same basic pattern are being made by the New Albin (IA) quilt group. They are in the process of organizing these quilts as a traveling grouping for 2014 to such shows as Paducah. I wish you could see/touch some of the details on these cow quilts!!!!
The last 4 photos are of several quilts Jacque had been given to have quilted by the local Amish. And that’s it for this month……..quite enough, I think!! Til next time………
Great work by everyone! I wouldn’t mine having anyone. Blessings, Mtetar
Me either!
Wow! Beautiful, awesome, stunning, fantastic. What talent and workmanship!
Thank you so much for your kind words!!!!
That is a fabulous hoard!

I love show and tell! Thank you for sharing.
Thanks so much for ‘popping’ in!!! Hugs…..
Fantastic quilts Doreen! I like them all, especially the Harley one as it is so unusual. I wonder whether your fabric detectives would know where I could get some otter design fabric or, even more desirable, a foundation pieced otter block. Oh I wish I was artistic…..

You have a very talented group! I’m impressed and inspired…
You ‘nailed it’!!!! Thanks for stopping by!! Hugs…..
Clever ladies! Great show and tell!
Always inspiring for me, too!!!
What a lovely collection of beautiful quilts! Love them all!
Thank you so much!!!
Everything is so lovely – but I tell you that scrappy spiderweb quilt just speaks to me!!! 😉
Me too. Carol quilted it (DSM) with webs and little spider shapes…..she does a beautiful job!!
Such a bunch of very talented ladies you are!!!
And so many successfully working/teaching in other creative art forms!
Loved the quilts; simply beautiful especially the large star quilt with blue borders. It’s always exciting to other’s ideas and share in their excitement of completing a quilt! I also agree fully with your comments on the HD quilt! Worked in a quilt shop for almost five years myself and usually fabric is out there – just have to know where to look for it. Thanks so much for sharing!
You are very welcome! Specialty fabric/themed fabric can make a detective out of a quilter!!! Part of the fun, challenge and, sometimes, frustration!! HD fabric and items are notoriously scarce!!!! I think it’s a conspiracy!!! LOL! Hugs…….
Wow Doreen! You ladies sure know how to have fun! Fantastic projects and so very unique. Thanks for sharing..
You are so very welcome! Wonderful that you stopped in for a visit!! Blessings……..
fabulous bunch of quilts!
I thought they were pretty spectacular, too! Thanks so much for stopping by!! Hugs……
Such a fantastic group of quilters … and their quilts…. It’s like having your own private show…
Hugz
It so is and I so look forward to each month’s meeting! Hugs back at ya…….
Wow! some stunning quilts! I love the fish purse and the double wedding ring the most!
The purse is my fave, also. The construction/sewing was flawless…so typical of that country’s workmanship! Glad you enjoyed the ‘show’. Hugs…..
Hi Doreen! Wow, so many amazing quilts! Thank you for sharing – enjoy your group! x Teje
We do enjoy each other’s company a lot. Years ago it was quite a different group but, as all things do, it has changed so much and now we spend the whole day together. The number of charity/QOV (Quilt of Valor) quilts that are produced is incredible!!! Such a blessing to so many!! Hope your hot weather has subsided a bit! We are having a blistering/muggy day…90F w/ super high humidity. So thankful for A/C. Hugs and blessings to you, dear Mediterranean friend…..
Wow. As always, I am impressed by the variety in colors and designs, but most of all by the incredible talent of these quilters.
Thank you for your lovely comments….always. I so value your kind words. This group has so many who excel in various quilt skills and other art forms. They are, also, quite active in the various communities we draw from, holding/teaching classes for the very young to those who just want to learn something new. “Giving back” in a very real way! And, besides all that, they’re just plain FUN!!!!!
Beautiful quilts, love to see the unique patterns and bright colors. Thanks for sharing !
You are very welcome, dear not-so-far-away friend! Hugs……
