And the gift is given……..

A while back, I posted here and here about our grandson’s upcoming high school graduation and the quilt that would mark the occasion. Yesterday we enjoyed celebrating the event at his open house and he was thrilled with the quilt! Andrew’s mom had gotten a cake with the suitable hunting theme and the picture on the icing looked to be a duplicate of part of the center quilt panel!! Totally unbeknownst to both Mom and myself!! Please, come along on the day’s photo journey………

Above, Great Grandpa and (GG) Payten having a good time! And, to their right……a little “mud boggin’” by Payten’s dad, Aaron. The day was lovely…….and a break in the rain!!!! Til next time……….

My/our GS is very much the expert hunter~with all the high tech/$$$$$$ equipment to go with his skills. I told him if the quilt wasn’t quite to his liking I would gladly take it back and make him another…….he just laughed!!!!!!

The quilt turned out great. It suits him well. Nicely done.

  5. Congratulations. So young and handsome, looks like your bloodlines are running strong. You all look like you are enjoying a wonderful day….especially great grandpa.
The quilt looks like it will keep that tall young man cozy.

I think it will work out wonderfully! He was somewhat speechless when he pulled it from the gift bag. Tom mentioned that it was an “I spy” type as there is so much to look at. Andrew seemed fascinated. He really like the pillow cases with the idea that making the bed would not be necessary!

CONGRATULATIONS Andrew! What a lovely and unique gift, but most of all the quality time spent amongst you all. Be A Blessing because you’re Blessed. Mtetar

Hi Doreen! You surely had a wonderful day! He must ‘be grazy’ about the quilt with the hunting theme! It’s fantastic quilt – fabrics and colours are perfect! Hugs! x Teje

Thank you so much!!! It was the most fun quilt I have done thus far!!! Andrew’s brother graduates next year…..I’m giving some heavy thought on what the theme could be for his! Although the brothers have similar likes/hobbies/talents, I don’t want his to be a carbon copy of his brother’s. Therein lies the challenge!!!! To be continued….

  11. Remarkable that the quilt and cake designs match. Looks like you all had a fantastic time. And beautiful weather to boot. Congratulations to Andrew! You must be a proud grandma.

Sigh……It still amazes me how the time flies by and the little, mischievous toddler is now a h.s. grad and 6 feet plus!!!!! Well…….you understand the “growing fast” part, the grandparent part will come in the appropriate time!!!! LOL!

Your grandson must have a nice sense of humor, love the grad cap on the deer mount. It looks like everyone was having a good time especially great gramps!
